Opting Out of War
The war opt out button has made it so we no longer have to kick people or ask them to leave and come back when they can't participate in war.
This does NOT mean, however, that we are interested in keeping members who are permanently opted out, and only war when we track them down and force or beg them to.
We understand that sometimes you're busy, have prior commitments, are traveling, or need to upgrade your heroes or spell factory and don't want to put yourself or the clan at a disadvantage. But with the new clan perks system, the bigger the wars we have, the faster we will level up our clan.
This will benefit everyone, and help us recruit better members as well, so we're requiring everyone to participate in 50% of wars at minimum, but really we expect all our members to OPT IN as their default setting, and stay opted as much as possible.
We will do our best to honor your opt-outs, though there may be occasions that we need to opt you in anyway, so if you're opting out, put a message in chat that says you're opting out, for how long, and why. This way we know whether you're really unavailable, or if we may be able to count on you if we need you.
Also remember that well-timed upgrades generally keep you out of 1 war, at most. So if you are planning these upgrades, the best thing to do is get counted into a war, do both your battles early, opt out, and immediately start your upgrade. If the upgrade is 5 days or less and you start it Sunday night you won't need to miss any wars at all. If the upgrade is 7 days, starting it Friday or Sunday evening will mean that you'll only need to miss one.
*Players with second accounts that are much lower level than the rest of the clan may keep their lower accounts opted out, as these accounts will likely be excluded from most wars unless we really need the account to fill a spot. Please be aware of this and make sure you're not counted in though.
