War Guidelines
We don't have many expectations for a clan with players at our level, but we do take our wars fairly seriously. We don't expect perfect attacks every time, but we do expect our players to be reliable, and put forth a certain degree of effort.
Our continued success in war depends on working together as a team, which is why we have implemented the following guidelines:
1. Both Battles Required - Use Strong Armies to Maximize Stars for the Clan
This is really the one major rule of our clan. There's nothing worse than losing a war for no other reason than having players fail to show, or having players show last minute and attack with whatever they happen to have, which basically amounts to the same thing. It is not fair to everyone else in the clan who spent the resources and took the time to make war armies and study the enemy bases to lose because they could not rely on their clanmates. This is something we simply won't tolerate. No-shows will be benched for one or more wars, and repeat offenders will be kicked depending on the situation.
2. Stay on Top of Opting in and Out
We want players to participate as much as possible, but we get it that sometimes you're busy or just need a break, or you may want to opt out because you have a hero upgrading. It's your responsibility to stay on top of opting in and out though. If you don't really want to war but are available if we need someone, opt out and let us know that in the chat.
3. War Defense Castle Donation Guidelines
We appreciate help filling the castles, but we also want to ensure people are getting the best troops possible. Top players should go first and start with larger troops like level 4+ dragons, witches, and possibly golems or hounds if the base is designed for it. We also use level 3+ valks, max balloons, and level 5+ wizards with level 6+ archers and barbs and level 5+ minions to fill in the gaps.
4. Lower Players Go First, Everyone Should Do 1 Attack in the First 12 Hours
Th7s and 8s should really be getting both battles out of the way early on if they can. This way the higher level players have a better idea of what needs to be done in terms of cleaning up the lower bases, and leaders can begin handing out assignments accordingly.
5. If You Need to Wait, Let us Know
Whether you're busy, or your heroes won't be finished upgrading until near the end of the war, just check in in the chat real quick and let us know so we're not wondering if you'll show.
6. No Attacking a TH Level Below You Without Coleader Permission.
This mainly applies to TH9s attacking TH8s...the TH8s should have first crack at taking out their counterparts. If bases need to be cleaned up, leaders will begin assigning them.
7. Go for 3 Stars on Your First Attack (or 2 star for TH10s)
You should always be looking to 3 star if you can, particularly on your first attack. In many cases this means attacking slightly lower than your position on the map. There are also plenty of attack strategy guides on here to help you out. If you don't think you can 3 star, you should be looking to go as high as you can and still confidently 2 star. This will give higher players more freedom to go lower, where they have a better chance of a 3 star attack.
8. Let Us Know Your Intentions When Prepping for A Base
The more we communicate in chat, the less we step on each others' toes. Do your clanmates the courtesy of letting them know what base you're preparing for so they don't steal it from under you or prep for the same base.
9. Keep an Eye on the Chat and Always Read Clan Mail
Sometimes we assign bases using clan mail, particularly in the later stages of the war. Also make sure you look at the chat real quick to see if anyone else is planning for the base you were planning for.
10. Take Time to Scout and Plan Your Attack
We don't expect your attacks to be perfect every time, but we do expect you to put in a certain amount of effort. We can tell the difference between a well-planned attack, and an attack where you spam your entire army and just hope it goes well. If you're not picking off buildings outside the range of defense, or holding on to reinforcement troops for deployment later in the battle,
11. If You're Going for 2 Stars, Remember Your Archers and Minions
If you're going for a 2 star attack, particularly against a high level TH9 or 10, make sure you scout the base first, and bring archers or minions for any buildings outside the range of defense. It can also help to hold on to a few of them to pick off buildings at the end. This can easily make the difference between 45 and 50%.
12. Plan Ahead for Offensive CC Requests, and be Willing to Wait
We do our best to fill war requests as quickly as possible, but sometimes it can take a while, particularly if you're requesting something that not many players have, like a max PEKKA, Golem, Dragon, or Hound, so keep that in mind. One thing we don't want to see is players going in with no clan castle or random troops and then saying they couldn't wait. That's your fault for not planning ahead, and it's not really acceptable, because it could mean the difference between one star and two, or two stars and three, which could end up being the difference between winning and losing.
13. We Generally Don't Allow Going for Loot
Every once in a great while, a coleader may give the go-ahead if we are way ahead toward the end of a war to attack up for a single star and maximum loot. We generally don't do this, however, for several reasons. First, we don't want to encourage this mentality, or have players that aren't ready with strong armies to get extra stars. It's not really fair to the players who did both their attacks with full armies, and we're not often in a situation where it wouldn't be possible for the other clan to come back (however unlikely). Additionally, there's not a single player among us who couldn't use the practice.
14. Feel Free to Ask for Advice, Be Open to Constructive Criticism
There are plenty of resources here on base design and attack strategy, but the best resource is often your clanmates. We don't really care if you fail attacks sometimes--it happens to all of us. What we do care about though is having players that are interested in improving their skills and working together as a team.
