What We Look for In Prospective Members

We like to take the Calvin Klein approach to recruiting and vetting prospective members, meaning we are selective in who we accept.  We would rather get one new member who is mature, loyal, active, a good donator, and interested in improving their attacks and working as a team to win wars, than 10 members who we constantly have to remind the rules, aren't interested in helping the clan improve, and who we eventually have to kick.

We expect our elders and cos to stick to this philosophy, and use the guidelines below when recruiting, or deciding whether to accept/reject.

We also appreciate it when our members recruit (and this will definitely help earn you higher clan ranks), but we don't beg people or go inviting anyone without a clan that meets our requirements. Instead, we post messages like "recruiting active adults and mature teens TH8+ wiz/archer 5 min, back to back wars on weekends. read clan description before requesting," and see if anyone asks to join. If you want to take it a step further, you can also recruit on CoC and ClashofClansBuilder forums.

1. Adults/Mature Players

We're primarily looking for adults, but we've also been known to take in mature teens if they are active, reliable, and can follow our guidelines. We have had problems in the past with immature teens that have made other members want to leave, but the biggest problem is that teens tend to be less reliable, whereas more mature players understand that in clan wars in particular, we function as a team, so anyone who does not show, or does not work on learning to attack with armies appropriate to their level, hurts the entire clan. It's not always easy to tell a player's age or maturity level in chat, but we try to avoid players who say things like "sup" and "bro" a lot, or make frequent spelling mistakes.

2. War Eligibility

If someone is ineligible for more than a day, or close to it, it means they bailed on their previous clan during war, probably without attacking first. And if they're willing to do that to someone else, we should assume they'll be willing to do the same thing to us. Really, players who are ineligible at all should be asked why they left their previous clan mid war.

3. Activity Level

Looking at the number of attacks won and number of troops donated and received this season is a decent indicator if you're at least 4 or 5 days into a season. Look for a decent ratio of donations to requests, and players that win at least 20 battles and donate at least 300 troops if you extrapolate their stats out over an entire season.

Lifetime stats are important too: a player that hasn't donated a minimum of 100x their experience level (so 7,000 for level 70 and 10,000 for level 100), or hasn't destroyed at least 400 town halls or won 800 multiplayer battles probably isn't going to be very active.

On the other side of things, be wary of players that have won 200 battles a season; they may be active, but have bad donation ratios or only donate archers, and may not be too experienced at using the higher level troops to attack successfully in war. Likewise, someone with 300 war stars is probably a hopper that likes to war constantly, and probably won't stick around.

4. Reasonable Offense and Defense for their Town Hall Level

We need players that have reasonable troops and defenses for their town hall level to ensure we're getting decent war matchups, and that any new members will be able to successfully attack and defend against opponents on their level.

Town Hall 8 - Wiz and Archer 5, 200 army camp spots required. Drags 3, BK5, leveled up hogs and PEKKA highly preferred. Maxed TH7 defense required with possible exception of air d and teslas, level 6 walls minimum, preferably at least half level 7 walls. 6,000 Friend in Need, min level 65.

Town Hall 9  - Golems must be unlocked, and PEKKAs need to be level 3 unless witches are unlocked already. Barb King must be level 5 minimum. All mortars and wiz towers should be level 6 minimum except the new wiz tower if they just got TH9 (wiz towers are really the main test for TH9; teslas should be level 4 min, and really 5 or 6, but you won't be able to see them). 9,000 Friend in Need, min level 85.  ***Remember, this is the minimum for TH9, but we have plenty of early to mid stage TH9s right now, so be especially selective.

Town Hall 10 - Golems and PEKKA must be at least level 3, and witches must be level 2. Level 15+ combined heroes. TH9 Xbows should be at least level 2, cannons 11, archer towers 10, wiz towers 6, walls 7. 220 army camp spots, 30 clan castle spots required, 12,000 friend in need level 100 minimum.

5. Other Factors

Request Message - Anyone who takes the time to type a personalized request to join is more likely to be the kind of player we're looking for.

War Stars -
At this stage of the game, anyone with less than 100 war stars probably isn't all that active or never wars.

Trophies - If a player hasn't been to crystal by level 75, or masters by level 95 or so, it's a bad sign.

Social - Is a player active in global, and did a player ask you to join, or are they simply requesting as a result of you posting a message. We're not necessarily looking for people who want to chat all the time, but we are

Army and Home Base - Go see what's on their base. If it's completely filled with barbs, archers, and/or goblins, there's less of a chance that we want them. Also look at the design. A poorly designed home base usually means a poorly designed war base too.
